Snowdrop and Bluebell

21/12/07

Snowdrop and Bluebell When I was young, my mother had a beautiful little Victorian writing desk with a sloped top that lifted up to reveal a treasure trove. I must have been a paper stroker even then because I was entranced by the Basildon Bond writing paper, the lined envelopes and the little gilt edged die cut pink cards which I now know were old fashioned calling cards.

But most of all, I loved the packs of notelets that my mother always liked to have on hand. Pretty designs that were blank inside so you could use them for a card or a letter. I wrote many a thank you notelet at that little desk and the stamps I have chosen for our spotlight feature make me think of that lovely desk full of its paper treasures.

As well as making beautiful notelets, these lovely snowdrop and bluebell designs would make perfect post-Christmas thank you cards or an unusual valentine.

Create your own Wild Meadow

Create your own Wild Meadow

Nothing could be more perfect for me than relaxing in the countryside - a warm summer breeze over a field, listening to the grasses rustle and the birds singing.  Glenda's beautiful card made using the Wild Meadow themeplate evokes that feeling for me.  You can see the card over on Glenda's blog and find out how she created it too.

Here Be Dragons!

Here Be Dragons!

It's not often you see really unique rubber stamps, but we think that this dragon themeplate from Elusive Images falls under that category.  See Glenda's card on her blog for some more inspiration (scroll down to the end of the post).

Snow is Falling

Snow is Falling There's no getting away from it, if you're a crafter, you have to start thinking about Christmas early!  Fortunately for us, this is made so much easier by the beautiful new rubber stamp themeplate, Snow is Falling.  Designed by Helen Chilton, these stamps are just perfect for all your Christmas cards.  They work beautifully when stamped with a permanent ink such as StazOn, and then coloured in with watercolours.
